Habitat Etiquette

Imagine a place built especially for you. A place filled with love that's designed for contemplation, reflection and healing – a space so powerful it inspires life transformation.

Welcome to Fivelements, home of conscious community.
Where our holistic wellness programmes bridge traditional healing with innovative therapies, and our yoga and sacred arts practices nurture self-exploration while nourishing mental health and physical wellbeing. And because we feel truly alive when in harmony with spirit, nature and one another – sustainability and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. From yoga and meditation modalities to signature treatments and plant-based cuisine – every detail has been considered with you at the heart. We believe love has the power to change the world.

We are Fivelements, and we are 'love in action'.
Ancient practices and traditions are honored with a certain level of etiquette. These soft and subtle rules allow us to reflect with humility and receive the incredible wisdom that has been passed on. The elephant-headed Ganesha at our entrance is a reminder of overcoming challenges and aids us in removing all our mind-made obstacles.

Understanding the Habitat Etiquette will help you feel more comfortable during your practice. Most of the following tips are simple courteous ground rules and by collectively following manners specific to classes and studios we can create an environment that is respectful and harmonious for all. Practicing silence, self-awareness, and consideration to the Yoga teachers, Sacred Artists and other Friends of Fivelements and guests will help to ensure that your experience will be beneficial and stress-free.
We are courteous
We envision sanctuaries for learning to love and respect life. We realise this vision by supporting the development of our family, Friends of Fivelements and guests into an innovative and nurturing Wellness Culture based on our principles of:

Living in harmony among spirit, human and nature
Please be courteous to our family and other Friends of Fivelements and guests at all times. Remember that everyone is human. Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. Learning from experience is just part of the process of Yoga and Sacred Arts! Do the best you can and your practice will reward you in many ways.
We are prepared
Class bookings can be made ahead of the class and we suggest that you book your class in advance since some classes may be more heavily attended than others. We want to give you space and will limit our class sizes so that they are never overcrowded. If a class you wish to take is full, we will place you on the wait list and notify you of an opening as soon as possible.

Please cancel, if you cannot come. Give us 2 hours' advance notice if you cannot attend the pre-booked class so that we can release your booking to waitlisted Friends and guests.

Feel free to walk-in or standby, if you forgot to book – empty mats are open for walk-in and standby for Friends and guests. Ensure to arrive 30 minutes before class, on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Wellness Concierge team will start releasing spots for Friends and guests on standby 5 minutes before the start of the class.

We are on time
We are early
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your class starts, to allow yourself ample time to register, get centered and prepare for practice. Observe your mood and begin to let go of outside thoughts and concerns.

As our classes begin on time, the closing of class registration will be 5 minutes prior to class start time. Open space may automatically be released to Friends and guests on standby (subject to space availability).

As a courtesy to other Friends and guests, you will not be allowed in once the class has started. Please respect the 'BE SILENT MASK' outside the Sacred Arts studio as indicator that a class is in progress. Please also do not leave the Sacred Arts studio while the class is in progress and the studio doors are closed.

Always check-in with the Wellness Concierge team before entering the Sacred Arts studios, even if you have reserved a space in advance, or checked-in before the scheduled class time.

Please show your Friendship card to obtain the Sacred Arts studio token for your registered class. Friends and guests without a studio token might be asked to leave the class to check-in and collect one.

On your first visit, please allocate a bit more time, as you will be required to fill out the guest registration as well as the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ) to indicate any physical injuries or health conditions. You are also advised to let the Wellness Concierge team know of any concerns before the class.

Remember, we will provide everything you will need for your practice: mats, props, towels and other amenities.
We are silent
Fivelements Habitat is a place for peace and connection, so let's be mindful of the volume of our voices and the sound of our movements in the Sacred Arts & Wellness Sanctuary corridors as well as the Sakti Elixir lounge.

Please observe noble silence in the Sacred Arts studios and Spirit Space, where our Friends and guests are meditating.

The 'BE SILENT MASK' placed outside the room doors is a gentle reminder.
We are present
We highly encourage a mobile-free environment. Leave your mobile phones in the lockers or charging stations of our changing rooms, as they are a distraction to your practice and others. In any case, please do not bring your devices into any of the Sacred Arts studios and Spirit Space.

WIFI is free, however please do not abuse this by watching or streaming videos or movies, downloading / uploading big files or viewing unlawful websites.
We are respectful
…of others and the space surrounding you, keeping clutter to a minimum.

Please refrain from publically displaying or consuming any outside food or beverages while relaxing at our Fivelements Habitat. Our Sakti Elixir features epicurean plant-based cuisine for Friends and guests to enjoy before and after class.

We kindly request that all food from Sakti Elixir is consumed at the Sakti Elixir lounge area. Please do not bring any food or drinks into the Sacred Arts & Wellness Sanctuary corridors as well as the Sacred Arts studios and Spirit Space.

Friends of Fivelements and guests may not use our Fivelements Habitat while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics and other mood-altering substances. Furthermore, the purchase, use, ingestion, possession, selling or distribution of illegal drugs is prohibited at all times.

We love our pets, but let's leave them at home. No animals are allowed within our Fivelements Habitat.

Please refrain from adjusting the lights, air-condition, thermostats, music, window blinds without permission. Our Yoga teachers and Sacred Artists are here to help.
We are comfortable
Our Sacred Arts and Wellness Sanctuary corridors and studios are a barefoot or slipper only zone. Please keep your shoes in your locker and/or remove your shoes before entering the Sacred Arts studios and Spirit Space. Please leave shoes in the shelves outside the studio and not on the floor. Wear proper and comfortable outfits and leave bags in lockers and/or changing rooms and not in the walkway area or studios.
We are safe
Please refrain from running within the public areas of our Fivelements Habitat so to avoid any accidents.
We are ready
Keep hydrated by drinking lots both before and after class and remember, Yoga and Sacred Arts are best enjoyed on an empty stomach, so eat lightly or not at all for 2-3 hours before class.
We are responsible
Please be responsible and respectful with the use of cameras and recording devices and be mindful to value the privacy of other Friends and guests within the premises of our Fivelements Habitat.
We are mindful
…of personal items. Fivelements Habitat will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any locker contents. Please leave all your valuables in the lockers provided and avoid bringing them into the studio. Daily lockers are not for overnight use. Lockers will be opened manually at the end of every day. Please pass any property found to our Wellness Concierge team, so we can help find its owner.
We are open
Our Yoga teachers and Sacred Artists are most accommodating to any injuries, conditions (such as pregnancy) or concerns that might affect your practice. Please let them know before the class starts so they can best support your experience and adjust you or provide you with appropriate modifications.
We are patient
Start where you are, use what you have and do what you can. Trust the process and remember, it is not a competition. Your practice will be different every single day. If you reach the full expression of a pose, acknowledge it to yourself, but do not seek rewards for your effort. Attain what you can during your practice, then let it go.

For your safety, as well as respect for the Yoga teacher and Sacred Artist as well as other Friends and guests, do not go to a class that is beyond your current level. Work from where you are, not where you think you should be. Never force to hold or attain a pose. Ask for modification options and practice your moves with control.
We are relaxed
Please do not leave the Sacred Arts studio while the class is in progress and the studio doors are closed. The final relaxation pose, called Corpse Pose 'Savasana' in Sanskrit, is vital to your practice. It's a time for stillness and deep rest that lets your body fully receive the benefits of Yoga and Sacred Arts. Let's not skip 'Savasana' and let's not leave before your class ends. If you absolutely must leave early, let your teacher know prior to class and leave quietly before 'Savasana' starts.
We are aware and kind to our environment
Sustainability measures are at the core of our Fivelements Habitat.

Please do not display any single-use plastic items in any public areas. You are highly encouraged to bring your own reusable bottle and enjoy the refillable water stations available.

All unwanted items may be recycled accordingly through our designated recycling and compost bins.

We are committed to maintain exceptional air quality within our Fivelements Habitat. Please do not smoke (including e-cigarettes and vapes) in any of the areas at any time.

Please be conscious of the number of towels that you use.

Let's save water! Be aware of your water usage and always remember to turn off all faucets after use.
